2.        

The National Institute of Technology, Science Education and Research (Second Amendment) Bill, 2016

 

Introduced on 09.12.2016

To incorporate the two new IISERs at Tirupati and Berhampur at Sl. Nos. 6 & 7 of the Second Schedule to the NITSER Act, 2007

3.        

The Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2016

Introduced on 14.12.2016

 

 

To modify the list of STs in the States of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu and Tripura

To address the issues relating to road safety, citizen facilitation, strengthening public transport, automation and computerization.

May be taken up for consideration and passing in case the Report of the Committee on is presented to the Lok Sabha and laid in Rajya Sabha and thereafter the Bill as passed by Lok Sabha is laid on the table of Rajya Sabha.

The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2017

To regulate and ensure access to safe MTP and also defines 'when', 'where', and 'by whom' MTP may be performed.

To further improve access to safe MTP services for women and reduce maternal mortality.

 

To include AYUSH doctors, nurses and ANMs as providers of MTP services in sector.

 

To increase the gestation limit for MTP beyond 20 weeks for vulnerable women and the upper gestation not to apply in case of diagnosis of server foetal abnormalities incompatible with life.

 

To increase access to legal abortion services for women.

The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill, 2017

 

 

To extend the period to 31st March, 2020 to facilitate training of all in-service untrained teachers.

The Indian Institute of Management Bill, 2017

To declare the Indian Institutes of  Management (IIM) to be Institutions of National Importance through a Central Legislation so as to confer them statutory status and the competence, to award degrees to students who pass out from these institutes.

The Payment of Wages (Amendment) Bill, 2017

(To replace an Ordinance)

To enable the employer to pay the wages to employed person also by cheque or crediting it to their bank accounts and also to enable the appropriate Government to specify the industrial or other establishments, by notification in the official Gazette, which shall pay to every employed person, the wages only by cheque or by crediting in his bank account.

The Divorce (Amendment) Bill, 2017

To confer jurisdiction on courts to entertain a petition for dissolution of marriage where either parties to the marriage is domiciled in India, to enable the petitioner wife to present the petition to the District Court within whose jurisdiction she ordinarily resides and to reduce the minimum mandatory period of separate residence for filing a petition of divorce by mutual consent from 2 years to 1 year.

The Collection of Statistics (Amendment) Bill, 2017

To extend the jurisdiction of the Act to Jammu & Kashmir in respect of statistical matters falling in the Union List and Concurrent List applicable to that State.

The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2017

To modify the list of Scheduled Castes in respect of Odisha and to modify the name of UT of Pondichery to Puducherry.

To streamline the adjudication of inter-State river water disputes by constituting stand-alone Tribunal with permanent establishment and permanent office space and infrastructure.

The High Court and the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill, 2017

To revise he salaries, gratuity, allowances, pension etc. of the Judges of the Supreme Court and the High Courts consequent upon recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
