To facilitate introduction of Goods and Service Tax (GST) in the country.

2.        

The Enemy Property (Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2016

 

(To replace an Ordinance)

 

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was referred to a Select Committee of the Rajya Sabha on             15th March, 2016.  The report of the Select Committee presented to the Rajya Sabha on 6th May, 2016.

 

To ensure that enemy property continues to vest in Custodian, Custodian of Enemy Property of India.

The motion for consideration of the Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was moved on 7.12.2015, but the discussion remained inconclusive.

 

To amend the Whistle Blowers Protection Act, 2011.

2.        

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology Bill, 2016

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the            Rajya Sabha on the 26th April, 2016.

 

To declare the Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad as an institute of National Importance and to make it a Statutory Body.

3.        

The Compensatory Afforestation Fund Bill, 2016      

 

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on the 4th May, 2016.

 

To provide for the establishment of a Statutory Fund and a management authority at the National level and each State and Union territory and also to provide the required legal backing for setting up of required institutional mechanism both at the Government of India and each State and Union Territory for expeditiously utilization, in a transparent manner, of amount realized in lieu of forest, land diverted for non-forest purpose.

The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2012

Introduced on the 4th December, 2012.

 

The report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on the  13th December, 2013. 

 

To achieve elimination of child labour through complete prohibition on employment of children and aligning with RTE Act, 2009, by amending the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, 1986.

2.        

The Homoeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Bill, 2015

Introduced on 6th May, 2015.

 

The report of the Department related Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare, presented  on 30th July 2015.


To follow the prescribed Minimum standards as stipulated under the Homoeopathy Central Council (Minimum Standards Requirement of Homoeopathic Colleges and attached Hospitals) Regulation, 2013 within a specific time frame, which in turn will improve the quality of Homoeopathy education in India.

The Enforcement of Security Interest and Recovery of Debt Laws and Miscellaneous Provisions (Amendment) Bill, 2016

Pending in Lok Sabha

 

Introduced on 11 May, 2016.

The Motion for reference of the Bill to the Joint Committee of the Houses was adopted by Lok Sabha on 11th May, 2016 and concurred by Rajya Sabha on the same day with instructions to report by the last day of the first week of the next Session.

 

To amend the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (SARFAESI Act) and the Recovery of Debts due to Banks and Financial Institutions Act. 1993 (RDDB & FI Act) to suit changing credit landscape, to improve ease of doing business, to give priority to secured creditors on repayment of debts, expeditious adjudication of recovery applications and to facilitate investment leading to higher economic growth and development and to make consequential amendments to the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 and the Depositories Act, 1996.

To provide for uniform entrance examination to all Medical  Educational Institutions for Under Graduate and Post–Graduate  courses through a designated authority in Hindi, English and such other language and such other manner as may be prescribed.

2.        

The Dentists (Amendment) Bill , 2016

(To replace an Ordinance)

To provide for uniform entrance examination to all Dental  Educational Institutions for Under Graduate and Post–Graduate  courses through a designated authority in Hindi, English and such other language and such other manner as may be prescribed.

3.        

The High Courts (Alteration of Names) Bill, 2016.

To facilitate changing the name of Bombay and Madras High Courts as Mumbai and Chennai High Courts respectively.

4.        

The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2016

To incorporate 6 new IITs at Tirupati (AP), Palakkad (Kerala), Dharwar (Karnataka), Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), Goa and Jammu (J&K) and conversion of ISM, Dhanbad to an IIT, under the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961.

5.        

The National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research (Amendment) Bill, 2016

To incorporate National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh in First Schedule of NITSER Act, 2007.

6.        

The Use and Regulation of DNA-based technology in Civil and Criminal Proceedings, Identification of Missing Persons and Human Remains Bill, 2016

 

(Previously named “The DNA Identification Bill, 2015”)

To regulate the use of Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid analysis of human body substances profiles and to establish the DNA Profiling Board for laying down the standards for laboratories, collection of human body substances, custody trail from collection to reporting and also to establish a National DNA Data Bank and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
