To ease and simplify acquisition of land for the national security and rural infrastructure projects such as electrification, housing, industrial corridors and other social infrastructure projects etc.

The Whistle Blower Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2015

The motion for consideration of the Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was moved on 07.12.2015 but the discussion remained inconclusive.

 

To amend the Whistle Blowers Protection Act, 2011 to safeguard against disclosure, pre-judicially affecting sovereignty and integrity of the country, security of the State, etc.

The Repealing and Amending (Third) Bill, 2015

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 07.08.2015.

 

To repeal certain enactments and to amend certain other enactments.

The Carriage by Air (Amendment) Bill, 2015      

 

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 03.12.2015.

 

To give effect to the revised limits of liability and to make rules for carrying out the provisions of the Act which shall not be inconsistent with the provisions of the Act.

The Bureau of Indian Standards  Bill, 2015

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 04.12.2015.

 

To provide for better implementation of standards and multiple types of conformity assessment schemes in tune with global best practices and to repeal the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986.

The  High Court and Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill, 2015

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 08.12.2015.

 

To remove obsolete provisions in the High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1954 and the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1958 and to insert a new provision for addition of a period of 10 years Bar practice to the qualifying service of Judges (elevated from the Bar) of the High Court for pension purpose.

The Industries (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2015

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 11.12.2015.

 

To transfer the authority to regulate ‘potable alcohol’ to States as recommended by the Law Commission in its 158th Report, by substituting entry of Item 26 of First Schedule of Industry (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 as ‘Fermentation Industries’ (other than Potable Alcohol).

The National Waterways Bill, 2015

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 21.12.2015.

 

To declare 106 inland waterways as National Waterways in addition to existing five National Waterways.

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2013

Introduced on 14.08.2013.

 

On a motion being moved by the Minister and adopted in Rajya Sabha, the Bill was referred to a Select Committee of Rajya Sabha on 06.05.2015 and its Report was presented on 30.07.2015.

 

To establish the Real Estate Regulatory Authority for regulation and promotion of the real estate sector and to ensure sale of plot, apartment or building, as the case may be, in an efficient and transparent manner and to protect the interest of consumers in the housing sector and establish the Appellate Tribunal to hear appeals from the decisions, directions or orders of the Authority and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The Report of the Department related Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture  presented on 11.03.2015.

 

To bring conspirators and abettors of hijacking also into the ambit of the Anti-Hijacking Act, 1982 and include ‘death penalty’ as punishment for hijacking.

The Report of the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Law & Justice was laid on the Table of Lok Sabha on 07.12.2015.

 

To amend the Lokpal & Lokayuktas Act, 2013 so as to provide for situations where the quorum of the Selection Committee is incomplete due to absence of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha etc.

To ensure that the enemy property continues to vest in the Custodian of Enemy Property of India.

The Regional Centre for Bio-technology Bill, 2016.

 

 

To declare the Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad as an institute of national importance and to make it a statutory body.

The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2016

 

To modify the list of Scheduled Castes in respect of five States viz. Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kerala, Odisha and West Bengal.

The Indian Institute of Management Bill, 2016

To declare certain institutes of management to be institutions of national importance with a view to empower these institutions to attain standards of global excellence in management, management research and allied areas of knowledge and to provide for certain other matters connected with such institutions or incidental thereto.

The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2016

As a sequel to the Constitution (One Hundredth Amendment) Act, 2015 a pact was signed between the Government of India and the Government of Bangladesh, whereby 51 Bangladeshi Enclaves (Chhitmahals) in Indian Territory and 111 Indian Enclaves in Bangladesh Territory were exchanged w.e.f. 31.07.15 which altered the geography of the Distt of Cooch Behar in West Bengal. As a result, the Bill has been proposed to enable the Election Commission of India to carry out the delimitation of constituencies in affected areas by amending Section 11 of the Delimitation Act, 2002 and Section 9 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
