The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, 2015

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of Rajya Sabha on 07.05.2015.

 

To bring comprehensive amendment  in the Juvenile Justice Act to address certain issues including simplifying process for adoption, giving statutory status to Central Adoption Resource Authority, special provision to tackle heinous offences committed by children above the age of 16 years and bringing role clarity in the functioning of Child Welfare Committees, Juvenile Justice Boards etc.

The Appropriation Acts (Repeal) Bill, 2015

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of Rajya Sabha on 11.05.2015.

 

To repeal certain Appropriation Acts.

3.        

The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Bill, 2015

 

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 13.05.2015.

 

To reduce the pendency of the cheque bouncing cases pending under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and to provide for a place of jurisdiction, which is fair to both the parties.

4.        

The Whistle Blowers Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2015

 

 

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, on 13.05.2015 was notified in Parliamentary Bulletin Part II dated 20.05.2015 vide paragraph No. 54261.

 

To amend the Whistle Blowers Protection Act, 2011 to safeguard against disclosure, pre-judicially affecting sovereignty and integrity of the country, security of the State, etc.

To facilitate introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the country.

May be taken up for consideration and passing in case the Report of the Select Committee on the Bill is presented to Rajya Sabha.

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2013

Introduced on 14.08.2013

 

The Report of the Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Urban Development laid on the Table of the Rajya Sabha on 13.02.2014.

 

On a motion moved by the Minister and adopted in Rajya Sabha, the Bill was referred to a Select Committee of Rajya Sabha on 06.05.2015.

 

To establish the Real Estate Regulatory Authority for regulation and promotion of the real estate sector and to ensure sale of plot, apartment or building, as the case may be, in an efficient and transparent manner and to protect the interest of consumers in the housing sector and establish the Appellate Tribunal to hear appeals from the decisions, directions or orders of the Authority and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

May be taken up for consideration and passing in case the Report of the Select Committee on the Bill is presented to Rajya Sabha.

The National Commission for Heritage Sites Bill, 2009

 

 

Introduced on 26.2.2009.

 

The report of the Department related Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture presented on 23.11.2009.

 

To provide for making lists of heritage sites for nomination to UNESCO and to maintain a national register of such sites, identifying and recommending measures and guidelines for short and long term policies for conservation, protection and management of heritage sites, conducting research for identifying and categorizing heritage sites as well as making recommendations on matters referred to it etc.

The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2012

Introduced on 04.12.2012

 

The report of the Department related Standing Committee on Labour laid on the table of Rajya Sabha on 13.12.2013.

 

To ratify the International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions No. 138 & 182 and to amend Labour Laws in light of the changed socio economic conditions of the country.

3.                    

The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013

Introduced on 19.08.2013

 

The report of the Department Related Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances and Law & Justice presented on 6.2.2014.

 

To provide for an express provision to cover supply side of bribery for clear and unambiguous definition of the term ‘corruption’ make changes in provision relating to protection from frivolous and vexatious prosecution including laying down clear criteria and procedure therefore and to ensure         more effective compliance of the United Nations Convention against corruption.

The Mental Health Care  Bill, 2013

Introduced on 19.8.2013.

 

The Report of the Department-related Standing Committee on Health & Family Welfare presented on 9.12.2013.

 

To replace the Mental Health Act, 1987 with a comprehensive new legislation.

Introduced on 11.05.2015.

 

Motion for consideration of the Bill moved on 12.05.2015 was not proceeded with consequent upon adoption of motion of reference of the Bill to the Joint Committee by Lok Sabha.

 

To replace the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Ordinance, 2015 (No. 4 of 2015), promulgated on 03.04.2015.

 

To ease and simplify acquisition of land for the national security and rural infrastructure projects such as electrification, housing, industrial corridors and other social infrastructure projects etc.

May be taken up for consideration and passing in case the Report of the Joint Committee on the Bill is laid on the Table of Rajya Sabha and the Bill is passed by the Lok Sabha.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (Amendment) Bill, 2015

To amend the BIS Act, 1986.

To provide for better protection of consumers.

To increase the reservation of women in Panchayats from existing 1/3rd to as near as one-half.

To provide for 50 percent reservation for women in Urban Local Bodies.

The Road Transport and Safety Bill, 2015

To bring in a new Motor Vehicle Act which will cover all issues including vehicle safety and having best international practices and norms.

The Merchant Shipping (Amendment) Bill, 2015

To give effect to the Convention on Civil Liability for Bunker Oil Pollution Damage 2001, Nairobi Convention on the removal of Wrecks 2007 and the Salvage Convention 1989 of the International Maritime Organization.

8.        

The Human Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid (DNA) Profiling Bill, 2015

To regulate the use of Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid analysis of human body substances profiles and to establish the DNA Profiling Board for laying down the standards for laboratories, collection of human body substances, custody trail from collection to reporting and also to establish a National DNA Data Bank and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

9.        

The Carriage by Air (Amendment) Bill, 2015              

 

To give effect to the revised limits of liability and to make rules for carrying out the provisions of the Act which shall not be inconsistent with the provisions of the Act.
