To establish a mechanism to receive complaints relating to disclosure on any allegation of corruption or willful misuse of power or willful misuse of discretion against any public servant and to enquire or cause an inquiry into such disclosure and to provide adequate safeguards against victimization of the person making such complaint and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto.

The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2013

 

 

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of Rajya Sabha on 26.8.2013.

 

To modify the lists of Scheduled Castes in respect of 4 States viz. Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Tripura and  in the Constitution (Sikkim) Scheduled Castes Order, 1978 for a similar purpose.

The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Bill, 2013

 

The Bill, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table of Rajya Sabha on 6.9.2013

 

To protect the livelihood rights and social security of the street vendors and regulation of urban street vending in the country and ensuring uniformity in the legal framework for street vending across States and Union Territories and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The Report of  the Department-related Standing Committee on Agriculture  laid on 20.12.2012

(i)                   To rationalize Government’s role and increase members’ participation in the working of Multi-State Co-operative Societies so as to increase public faith in these societies and create a conducive environment for their growth & development, and

(ii)                  To facilitate the building of self reliant and democratic co-operative institutions

(iii)                To enable co-operative societies to compete in the new economic environment and to raise resources more effectively by promoting functional autonomy and professionalization.

The Nuclear Safety Regulatory Authority Bill, 2011

The Report of the Department-Related Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests presented on 21.03.2012.

To fulfill the assurance given by the Prime Minister on the floor of the Lok Sabha on 14.03.2011 to take all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of nuclear plants.

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2011

 

Introduced on 08.09.2011

The Report of the Department-related Standing Committee on Finance laid on 21.03.2012.

To put in place the enabling provisions for the introduction of an alternate method of obtaining alkaloids of opium through production of Concentrate of Poppy Straw instead of production and processing of opium in the country.  It further seeks to address the anomalies arising out of the amendments made in 2001 and also to strengthen the provisions of the Act.

The Right of Citizens for Time Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances Bill, 2011

To provide for the establishment of an Institution of national importance to be known as the Regional Centre for Biotechnology for training and education as a category II institution under the auspice of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Central Organisation, to undertake research in the field of biotechnology and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The Coal Regulatory Authority Bill, 2013

To appoint an Independent Regulatory for coal sector for providing more optimal development and conservation of coal resources more effective regulation, adoption of best mining practices, rational pricing, better distribution, evolution of a more competitive market, etc.  It would also help in creating a level playing field for new entrants in coal sector
