The Inland Vessels (Amendment) Bill, 2005

To delete the redundant provisions and to add certain provisions in the Indian Vessels Act, 1917 to keep pace with developments which have taken place in Inland Waterways.

The Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Bill, 2005

The Report of the Department –related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture presentedon 16.5.2007.

 

(i)  To prevent spread of infectious and contagious diseases of animals from one part of the country to another;

 

(ii) To establish “Controlled” and “Eradicated areas” within the country in order to reduce economic losses on account of major infectious and contagious diseases of livestock; and

 

(iii) To control animal diseases of public health significance on a national basis and promote import and export of animals and animal products by meeting India’s international obligations.

To amend the Apprentices Act, 1961 to provide :-

(i)            Reservation for Other Backward Classes;

(ii)          Related instruction to be imparted at the cost of employer; and flexibility in respect of ratio prescribed for apprenticeship scheme.

To make special provisions for the National Capital Territory of Delhi for a further period of one year and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The Trade Marks (Amendment) Bill, 2007

To empower the Registrar of Trade Marks Registry to deal with international applications, both originating from India and received from Contracting Parties, and prescribe the procedure for dealing with international applications and facilitate the implementation of Protocol obligations.

The Wildlife Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2007

The Bill  provides:-

 

(i) To include the provisions of Control of International Trade in Endangered Spices in the parent Act in order to control illegal trade in wildlife and their parts and products.

 

(ii) To permit the private owners of elephants to sell and transfer their captive elephants.

The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2007

 

To amend Article 276 of the Constitution to give the power to Parliament through a Central Legislation to fix the ceiling for the  profession tax payable in respect of any one person of the Staff or any one municipality,  District Board, Local Board or other local authority in the State by way of taxes on profession, trades, tollings and employment.

The Authority for Advanced Rulings on Central Taxes (Amendment) Bill, 2007

To provide for constitution of an Authority for Advance Rulings on Central Taxes as a substitute of the Authority for Advance Rulings constituted under section 245-O of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the authority for Advance Rulings (Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax) constituted under section 28F of the Customs  Act, 1962, and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
